Hi Everyone,
My protein skimmer stopped foaming after I added a prefilter sponge in the back of my Nuvo 30L chamber. It was foaming fine the day before I added it, all corals seem happy just the skimmer started going a little crazy and not foaming. I rinsed the new sponge well with RODI water before I added it.. Should I remove it? Thanks

Shouldn't be a long term issue.
1st question is, How old is the tank?
Sometimes new tanks take a bit of time to get the skimmer doing it's thing the way we expect

Is it either blocking or restricting the water going into pump inlet ? That would do it

Thank you, the tank is technically only two months old but I upgraded from a Nuvo 20 to a Nuvo 30L and the 20 was two years old before I upgraded.. it's was pulling out skimate right before I added the prefilter sponge.

Thank you but it's on the other side of the tank and in the media caddy

New sponge still has oils in it no matter how much you rinse it. It’ll be fine in a few days, a week at most.
