In preparation for this weekend- it seems everyone is having huge coral sales- can y'all please explain to me what all the commotion is regarding these corals and the toxin they shed? Are these ones to completely shy away from? I am seeing mixed reviews online. I typically wear gloves anytime I have to touch the rocks or sand in my tank the only time I do not wear them is when I am doing our weekly water change and scrubbing the glass. I also read something about leathers shedding a toxin as well.

I also like zoanthus corals too but have heard these guys shed toxin as well

Some Palys will have a toxin in them that is very dangerous. Just make sure to handle them with care. Gloves, goggles, etc if cutting or fragging.
The toxin is usually found in the less desirable, invasive palys.
