Hello again, another quarantine and treating question for my sick clownfish and bangaii cardinal.
I have just finished my copper power treatment and reduced it down below .75 PPM with a water change and Cuprisorb. Following the water change, I added 4.5 ml of prazipro (~18 gallon system) to the system and plan on following the process I have seen posted around the site of day 1 dosing, adding carbon day 4, water change day 7, rinse and repeat for three doses.
Out of sheer fear of adding my fish back to the tank after all this effort to get them healthy, I want to make sure I take every precaution and treat for any ailment they may have had. While I had initially thought it was velvet or ich due to the fish swimming into powerheads continuously, after seeing pictures of brook, I was unsure. Fortunately, the symptoms have since subsided after the copper treatment (within a week it was gone) but I’m afraid that it was just suppressed. Out of concern for this potentially returning, I ordered Ruby Reef rally treatment and I am planning on using it in a 90 minute bath twice (a week apart) before adding them back to DT once 76 day fallow period is over. I also have Safety Stop, but have heard mixed reviews due to lack of disclosure on formalin contents.
Let me know your thoughts and whether or not I should change anything in my process or thinking. Thank YOU!
