Question about Bio Cube lighting. Anyone tried 50/50 bulbs and actinics?

Hello,
I recently purchased an 8 gallon biocube and I'm not huge on the color of the light coming from the stock 10k and actinic bulbs. Has anyone tried a mixture of 1 - 50/50 bulb and 1 actinic bulb on your biocube setup? I'm just wondering if that will be too blue or too dark and not put out enough light for corals. Any feedback would be appreciated!

I talked to the guys at world wide corals about it the other day when I was in there and they said it was a good idea. Ill be getting the 50/50 next week and let you know how it goes.

Tagging along.
Just got my 14g Biocube. Still dry, but wondered about the lights. I've has PC bulbs before on another tank and was happy enough with them but I'm really interested to see how the blue and the 50/50 works out for you! :D

I have a 50/50 and a blue actinic bulb on my 12g nano and it seems to be working fine.

I did it on my 12 nano and I bought the coralife brand. In my opinion the atinic only bulb was wayyyy more purple than I thought it would be but it's ok. I'd go with another brands atinic next time to get a bluer shade.

Thanks for letting me know. I'm definitely switching to that combo soon. Can't stand the yellow/white look of the tank currently. I'll sacrifice a bit of growth for a better overall look.

ive never had much luck getting anything to grow under PC lights. Drop a little bit of money and swap to LED. well worth the time and effort IMO
