Anyone have any good tips for me?
I'm going to clean my sump and skimmer this weekend and was thinking about tanking it outside and filling it with vinegar and water and letting the skimmer run In the mixture for a few hours. Then give everything a good scrub and wipe down. Any thoughts tips or tricks? Thanks guys.

vinegar and a mr. clean magic eraser will have it all looking brand new.... i like to use the white scrubbing pads for acrylic myself but a magic eraser works just as well if not better..... for the skimmer yeah run it in the vinegar bath then blast it out with the hose and dry her off ready for service..... it's nice to remove the impeller and scrub it and clean it all up etc....

Thanks Troylee! First time I've heard of the magic eraser trick. I normally wouldn't clean my sump but I'm getting alot or detritus and I want to add a few pieces of acrylic and mod my sump to be a little more effective. I originally had a wet dry style and since then. I've went to a fuge style system with a filter sock. which is ok but I'm starting to hate having to change them all the time. I may mod it into a sock/drip tray style sump but still need to plan it out. Thanks for the info and tips troylee. I also caught word of your tank crash. Sorry to hear about that. : ( do you think bio pellets were to blame?
