Hello,

I have a 40g breeder with mostly LPS & Zoas and a 150 watt Phoenix DE bulb for light. I want to add something to help make the corals stand out more and add some blue to the tank. From reading a lot of the posts on here the Reefbrites seem like a good option in addition to my Phoenix bulb.

Questions....

My canopy is just under 37" wide.. would the 36" RB fit or is actually longer then 36"? Would a 30" be better anyway if it's just to add some blue?

Is the blue a true blue color, or does it have the purple hue to it?

And lastly would it overpower my Phoenix bulb and look like a really totally blue tank?

Help!!

It's about 36" maybe 36.1". The color does make it pop but its not the same royal blue as the powerbrite leds. It's more of a bluish purpleish color - still very bright though. I have 2 over a 36" cube

hey kelli im sure that you can go with 36. the color of the reefbrite is a true blue color that really bring out all the colors in the corals.the rb fixture is going to make your tank look incredible:bigsmile: can wait to have some rb in my tank!!!!

Thanks for the measurement! What do you mean it's not the same royal blue as the powerbrite leds? Kinda confused there?

What do you guys think? 36" or 30" since I already have a 150w Halide?

After seeing a video on YouTube I'm thinking maybe even the 24"? Any thoughts?

to add to your halide I would go 24. I have 2 on a 65g , same footprint as your 40. but it replaced the blue t5's great colors for sure. I vote for the 24, 30 tops.

I use the 48" Blue reef brites with my 2x150w Pheonix bulbs and also 4 T-5's... I think the color is perfect

I actually have two 24" Reef Brite blue strips that have not yet been used on a tank that I may consider selling.
