Hi All,

My ammonia badge is reading .05ppm after starting cupramine last night. I have 15 gallons of premade water I am going to do a change with (on a 29g QT). Would it be at all beneficial to add QuickStart or would it all just die immediately and add to the problem?

Thanks!

Nate

I have zero issue using Biospira to quick cycle a QT tank at 1.00ppm copper power, if that helps. I squirt about a third of a small bottle into the filter of an aquaclear 20 hob, leave it sitting turned off for 30 minutes, then switch on, let it circulate another 30 minutes, then and add fish.

I normally do that while the fish are in a 90 minute ruby reef rally bath prior to adding to qt

That does help, thanks! I used biospira to start the tank initially but apparently the cupramine killed some other stuff that it couldn’t handle. Maybe all of the ich? Lol.

Just FYI 1.0 ppm on copper power is not therapeutic. You need to ramp it up to 1.75

Ya know.. looking at it I’m not sure I even do have anything to be concerned about. It’s slightly green but very much closer the the safe level, no?
