R2R, 2012 and the future?

Well here we are again with a brand new year upon us! Every year we have grown as a community and this year I want to grow better than ever before. I want to thank each and every one of our members and staff here at R2R for your dedication to the community and what you offer as a member and moderator.

I would love to hear some ideas from each one of you about how we can take R2R to the next level and continue to grow. So would you please share ideas and thoughts?

Also I would love to come up with a vision statement for R2R and some goals for 2012. Please be thinking about that as well.

I think a lot of people really like the contests (I know that's what got me active here to begin with), but what I think sets R2R above the other forums I frequent is the sense of community here. You do more than just help people with their aquariums. As far as growing, it would be great to see some involvement from the experts in the field.

I think R2R should start it's own reef conference or swap such as MACNA or Reefapalooza..there are enough talented people on here to get it done..the Reef2Reef Coral Conference :)

Thank you and I agree. I have been in talks with some "experts" many times and will continue to see what we can do. I honestly feel like it's time for some new experts to come up and R2R could be a nice platform for them to grow.

More contests is great..
More Donating to help out those in times of trouble or just to help those less fortunate.
More givaway for new registered members
New reefers tank of the month and advance reefers tank of the month.
And yes a r2r reef show would be sweet!

With all these ideas I promise to help as much asi can.

Reef club forums

I know my local club has a large forum on the other site and i would love to see them over here

Besides what is mentioned above I think it would be awesome to offer "Group Buys" to the R2R community. For Example if you could work it out with a vendor to offer 15 percent off Apex controllers if we got 20 people to purchase. That would be awesome!
