I got to some of the oldest, unanswered posts. I didn't have a great answer, but some posts were going on almost two days without a reply, so I gave them a bump. To me, there's nothing worse than posting and not getting any replies, so I hope it's the right thing to do to simply bump some of the oldest posts in the hope that another member will see it and be able to help. I feel that this way the OP will at least see that SOMEONE saw their post I hope that helps.

I'm trying, I know a lot of us are

^I think this has a lot to do with it. I do not claim to be an expert in anything, reefing or otherwise, but sometimes some of those questions linger because for whatever reason they are, well..... hard

Perhaps right or wrong, but when I see an unanswered post linger for 12 to 24 or more hours, I'll bump it with the hope that other R2R members will see it and be able to help. I believe, from experience, that this has proven to be true.

It was pointed out to me by brother @tbrown that just bumping a thread causes it to be "replied" to, and therefore it drops off the "unanswered" list, which I get, so I'm now always considering this if/when deciding to bump an unanswered thread.

I'd also like to add a thought, in an effort to help members get help to their questions: I'm seeing A LOT of posts by members, often new, who are asking for help, they post a question, but then quickly post a follow up message. Unfortunately, and I believe unwittingly, these members are "posting" themselves off of the unanswered board.

I've noticed that you do this, and I for one think it's great, though I don't know how the experts that you're tagging feel

I do the same. I'll offer insight or advice and then tag the ones I feel are more qualified to answer them.
