So I purchased 2 radion xr30w gen 2 from someone on this forum and I just wanted to double check one thing. Are two radions suffient to light a 48x30x18 mixed reef tank?

Quick look I couldn't find a comparison par chart for the regular lenses vs the wide angle replacement lenses. I have a 30" x 30" tank and the wide angle lenses on my gene pro make a huge difference. I would borrow a par meter to see how you fair with a 30" tank on the edges. chances are if you turn it up to light the edges the center is going to be more than you want. the wide angle lenses are fairly cheap and easy to install.

Most of us don't have corals right next to the front edge of a tank, so I wouldn't worry about the advertised coverage ( 24" x 24" ) with the regular lens.
If it makes you feel better, then the wide angle lens upgrade is suppose to move that 24" x 24" area out to closer to a 30" x 30" area.

That said, I did the upgrade to the wide angle lens ( and gen 3 ) about a couple years after getting my first Radion. Before the upgrade I had my standard lens Radion on my 30" wide lps/sps tank and grew corals near the edges.

My rock structure is a good 2.5" from the left and right sides of the glass so I think it should be fine then

I meant about the 30" front to back.
I was saying you probably don't have stuff up front next to the glass.

With the measurements of 48" x 30 " x 18", I assumed that it was 48" left to right, x 30" front to back, x 18" tall.

Standard lens will be more than plenty.

Not sure how to do it.
All I did was pick the radiant program. Moved the moon light points up to go off at a few minutes after the main lights go off. ( don't like moon lights).
The 3 highest points were what I changed. The 2 outside ones I clicked on and went to a 20k color. Then the highest middle point I changed to a 16K color.

That's about it.
