Anyone have any directly compatible products I can consider? I'd like to replace the standard return outlets with dual-nozzle random flow nozzles, and ideally not pay $100 each.

I believe you can get a dual 1/2 output with RFG nozzle from Vivid Creative Aquatics. The kit (adapter plus the dual lines and nozzles) looks like it's $50. Have you looked at that option?

I have a couple of VCA RFG nozzles on the outputs of my Max-E 260 and I am happy with the performance (except when dove snails mess them up).

Edit to add that for the Reefer G2 with two return outlets, VCA recommends a single 1/2 setup on each outlet (~$28 each) but you could still get a couple of the dual output ($50 each or $100 for the pair). Note that the random flow performance seems to rely on a minimum (or optimum) flow rate, so it might be advisable to try their recommendation. But I recognize you may have specific goals in mind that require more directional outputs.
