Show me your rare finds! Whether it be fish, coral or inverts. What is the most extraordinary thing in your tank?

Hybrids? Untypical colours/patterns? Truly one of a kind?

I'll get a pic of my frammer tomorrow, when the lights are on. I don't know if I'd call it rare but it is a hybrid and one of my favs.

I’d love to see it, we have a teal one arriving tomorrow!

Rare or not, hybrids are always special imo. Any idea how it happens for this combo?

I believe there's a thread for rare expensive fish somewhere. There's some hobbyists with big wallets that have amazing rare angels and other fish.

i’ll have to try to find it. Its amazing to see what kind of amazing fish are out there

I guess I will start. I only have three fish on the rare side. (FOWLR). I have a Cobalt Slender Grouper who is currently about 8 inches and I have a baby Pelagic Porcupine Puffer who is just about 4 inches. The last fish is actually a Yellow Mouth Moray Eel who is about three inches long.

Many know about pelagics and they are hard to come by hut do show up from time to time. the slender on the other hand I have only ever seen two other hobbyists have this fish.

I bought him as an unamed grouper and thought he was quite gorgeous. later found out he is worth over $1000 when i picked him up for short of $200.

unfortunately I do not have a good picture of my slender grouper so i will upload a video and show a photo off of google of what the look like. (He is the fish i heavily zoom in on in the first video)

This frammer arrived today. It’s more of a teal tinted light blue rather than fully teal atm, but we’ll see how it looks over the next couple days. I’ll upload some pics once it settles in :)

Well I think this is the last time I order coral online. I was hoping today it would be more colourful like our frogspawn, mind you in person it has truly the most vibrant tips I’ve ever seen on a euphyllia (even under just white lights, pics hardly do it justice) and would be hard to live up to. The frammer is definitely a more dull powder blue with very -and I mean very- slight green accents to some of the arms. It doesn’t seem to stretch out as much and the tissue is lacking compared to the frogspawn as well. Quite disappointing but cool that it’s a hybrid none the less.

How long does it take for a coral to colour up? Is there any potential for it to become more vibrant? I may just grow it out and let it appreciate in value until a nicer one comes along at a lfs that I can see in person first then trade it in

Of course! Here’s some of my favourites we’ve been sent so far. Brown girl and silver boy born a week apart. The silver boy we have on hold is in the middle of the pic of their two moms together with the brown girl and another silver we had on hold at the time

I have a hippo tang with 1 of kind markings. His blue marking is extra small and sometimes completely black, his dorsal fin is black towards the back, and his pectoral fins are black.

OBSESSED

Is the other side normal or is it different too? That is the most unique blue tang I’ve ever seen
