Your first picture it shows scerlites, at this time ID to soft corals is a hit and miss. For all we know your first coral could be dendronephthya, stereonephthya or other. The second, here in states it's named dendronephthya aka carnation coral from Indonesia. Second picture needs to be clear to get a better idea or close to a better idea. Bummer

agree 100% this two corals seem to be the 2 I see on this thread with the same name. I believe both corals in the pictures to be photosynthetic they both in my tank and only open during day lights.

I think the second pic it’s still not the real deal, but have been finding interesting that she only opens during light on.

Ive got a couple more pics from the day I intrude it will try and get some better ones once am home.

borrowing this one down to one of the 50 odd species could be a job on itself :)

For my understanding pink nepthea is a photosynthetic carnations coral. If we could identify the species more effectively we could give them the required light, maybe they not all NPS as its commonly referred. Maybe putting some of this species in the shade will actually kill them as some require sps kind of light intensity.

Very possible, I can tell you this if I have any photosynthetic soft corals, they don't last more than a month or two but the NPS soft corals last a lot longer , so it makes me think about setting up a light

I am going to move the one with the pink on into my display tank later to see if it changes under T5s.

Found a proper picture from a Japanese website. As you can see is slightly different from what we been seeing on this thread, still a species of coronation coral I believe.

It would be interesting to see how they would react to light, the picture you have shared seem very similar to the specie on the link, which is photosynthetic.

Just took this, Bristol here, it is really hard to not get reflections when it is sunny. ;)
Both are on the sand, 52 litres.
The front shorter one is the one with pink in the polyps the back is the flat gold / yellow, it gets more light.
In the glare to the right is the bigger one also, that branch gets less light! ;)
I am moving the little one. :)

I *just* added a koji wada from UC and a chili coral from BZ. A local reefer is fragging a piece of weeping willow for me as well... I clearly have a problem.. I also have a "hairy beast leather" on the way, which I've personally never seen before.

Here's a photo on that from PEA.

Anyone know more specifics on this one??

Stunning picture, will be very interested in how it will behave in your display. This is the one I’ve shared earlier under a hydra 52 full blast + 2 T5’s 14k, 5in from the surface.

Wondering if this came in and how it looked? I have debated on grabbing this one as well. Thanks.

It arrived yesterday! In typical softy fashion it is sulking a little still. Polyps are just starting to show. Here's a current photo, once it's fully extended I will add another one.
