Way overkill for a 15 gallon tank. I have a 25 gallon with 100watt heater and it heats up just fine.
I find if you have a knob on the heater set to 80 it might not heat to 80. I think mine is set to 84f on the heater to get to 78f. I also use an inkbird controller as a backup to the heater.
Yeah, small typo. It’s a 5 gallon with a 100w
I ended up Running two heaters, because the water ended up going down to almost 70- 72 on a jawbreaker dominate tank

I just added the heater when the temperature dropped. And that was all.

100watts in a tiny 5 gallon is way overkill. I have the same heater in my 25g and it keeps my tank at 78f very easy. House temp at 69f

We live in an upstairs apartment .. as such the cat's litter boxes are outside on the deck because I'm allergic and 3 cats smell -.- ... so we have to leave the living room door open a little so the cats can do their thing... :( I currently have 3 heaters in my tank and the healers turn on at 75.5 and off at 78.. until we move to somewhere bigger it has to be like this during the winter. I kind of wish I went with a bigger tank so I can have a sump.. as it's crowded in my AIO currently. already planning for the next tank.
