Reef tanks comes and goes.........
As long as we and ours were healthy, everything is just fine.

I hope that soon my taste for colored glass boxes returns.....:p

After a few bad months, due to ANOTHER dino infestation, the tank is slowly coming back.

In the end of 2020 I lost several sps, both colonies and frags and just losted the will of take care of the tank......It was my 3rd dino problem since the end of 2018, and one of the worst......

To deal with it I just let the tank goes by its own for several months. I stopped water changes, suplement dosing, bacter dosing, no GFO or GAC, no mecanichal filtration.

I basically fed the fish, only the fish, and cleaned skimmer cup and glass one time a week.

After stop doing the regular maintenance, hair algae (maybe bryopsis) take over.

In March-25 I started a fluconazol treatment and let it act for 2 months. Do massives water changes in a 2000 liters system isn't very easy.

In May I reestarted with water changes, an add a liter of GAC in 2 reactors.

Now the STN/RTN stopped, the hair algae totally desapeared, take care of the reef started to give me some pleasure again.

In this period, to sum up with all the mess, I've losted a few fishes, including my 4 years old CBB.

Another thing that I gave up in this period was to film/photoghaph the tank.........

Now I intend slowly to do some videos and photos.

I'm sorry for let the thread abandoned for so many months.

As the tank was named REBIRTH, I hope it will be able to rebirth again, in the following months.

They are from after......they were taken two weeks ago.
Things are really coming back, but to think about how the tank looks back in the 2017~18 shows that still are a looooong way to go.

I'm in a process of replace some corals and fishes that I've losted in the past year.
The tank is giving me some pleasure to keep it again and I'll try to keep this thread updated.

I'm thinking about add a new tang to the tank.
I now have only a Naso blonde (a male one) 5~6" long and a lot of wrasses......
I'm in doubt about another Naso, a lituratus this time, a Powder Blue or a maculiceps.
The last one is a very hard fish to find here in Brazil and...........................I found one from a dismantled tank.
I'll not lie.......is there a possibilitie of add all of them, in the next month or two.....:p:p:p

So.......put your chips in one of them and help me to decide.....

That's a good point.
The problem is that I found the PB and the maculiceps.......but not the naso (wich is a....complicated fish)
So I could add 2 of them at the same time. It's better than only one....

I had a PB for 6 years.....He went through 3 systems that I had.
It's a pretty beautiful fish. One of the prettiest, IMO............
