Hi Reefers, so I had been away from salt water for a few years, last tank was a 75 mix, anyways I bought/rescued this cyano madness 170 that will hopefully end as a mixed reef. Neglect falls short on what this tank had. Pic dont show had bad it was It has 5 fishes that you could hardly see. 3 black clowns & 2 chromis. Since I had a JBJ28 already running the plan was the major clean up and move everything to the 170, was not able to find homes for the clowns since I already had 2 in the 28 so chanced it and had something to split the tank in half in case of aggression but they all behaved like model citizens for 2 weeks.
Process: 1- scrub, clean and ran everything with vinegar for a while. 2- Bleached the cyano covered rocks and left to aerate for a week, I did rinse thoroughly and tested for chlorine multiple times.
3- dropped my MP40 dry side in the process and broke the outer casing to crap
Had a plumbing issue when setting up, the emergency down pipe went to the reef mat but the corrugated has a pinhole puncture and was leaking to much soI had to jerry rig with a pressure connection for now.
-I have a small air pump in the sum for aeration that runs a few hours a day with the apex until I get a power head for the display.
I did loose 1 of the black clowns not sure what happened since still no signs of aggression, woke up one day with an eye fully swollen breathing heavy and did not made it trough the day.
Parameters seem fine, Ammonia 0, nitrite 0, nitrate 20 I know kinda high, calcium 580, PH 7.9 cant seem to raise it and have it steady, sg 1.028 lowering to 1.026 little by little.
No skimmer at this time nor the reef mat installed. Im leaning more for a skimmer since is what I know more than the reef mat (what u think?)
Any suggestions are welcomed!!!
Sorry for the long post and pics

Following along!

Update, installed a Reef Octopus 110 skimmer today and is already hard at work. on the other hand I had to move one of my clowns to the sump today I have not sen any aggression or bullying but the little fellow has some bites on his tail, yesterday I notice it and keep watch did not see anything today his tail is worst, so a week in the sump for his safety and rehab.

Quick update, tank is up and running, skimmer online, live stock is happy.
Had to remove some rocks since to me it looked overcrowded (wife says NO) I will replace the removed rock filtering footprint with at least 15 of the bricks.
A problem I ran across, my PH was steady low @ 7.6 working to get it to 8-8.2 cant keep steady for the life of me (PIC). I started adding Kalkwasser to the ATO and my DKH went from 13 to 14.2 and I know that is very bad, did a water change yesterday planning another one tomorrow (5 gallon each) to see if I can lower to safe ranges. All other parameters are stable Nitrite 0, Sg 1.026, Nirtate 15 (need to lower, I suffer from heavy feeding syndrome), Ammonia 0.

Logging update/blooper. My alk testing has been rising out of nowhere to panic mode levels 13 two weeks ago, 14.5 this week, 15 today did water changes nothing helped, me being me notice my hanna alk reagent expired 2023 ‍♂️ so tested with the redsea care alk kit and at 10ml 21 drops should be around 7.5 correct? Should I start dosing this alk suplement? Everything in the tank is happy, hammer is nice and plump, polyp has growth, fishes are fine without stress, nem is fine.
