Red dry rock problem

Hi i have a problem i bought recently some DRY rok for my 10 g reef but the rok is orange white and red is it safe i fear for iron ! Please Help!

Your pics did not post (at least for me). You could always dump them in a bucket with nsw and test it for iron after a bit

What was the source of this rock? Did this rock come from the ocean/was it used previously in a reef tank?

I bought this rock white the name ' Aqadeco coral tuff ' from : Nevertebrate.ro it is a on line pet shop in Romania where i live.
I don't know if it is from the ocean .
No it was not used previously in e reef tank .
Is it safe for me to use it into my reef tank? What do you think?

I personally wouldn’t put it into a reef tank but you can possibly soak it and get water coming off it tested to make sure there isn’t any iron or copper.

I put the rock in a bucket whit a pump an watter 36h ago i tested now for iron and copper and but 0 iron and 0 copper and nothing wierd whit de rock .... is it ok ? Tanks for help!

Actually it is expensive and i put a loot of time in building a rock for my aqarium.... and i buy around 30 kg....

Gotcha. I wish I could confirm for you that the rock was ok.

Malpractice to confirm right? If nothing is coming off in your separate tank you are probably good. More time and testing gives more comfort but you can’t wait forever. I’d trust 30-60 days of no measurable but that’s me. I’d defer to older hands if they suggest otherwise.

It tested fine it should be ok. I would ask where the rock was sourced from. If its a company that sells rock for saltwater tanks I dont see why they would sell rock with killer contaminates in it if they plan on staying in business.

I recently contact Aqadeoco about this rock and they respond this:
The coral tuff should be save for usage in your reef tank.

As all natural materials it should be washed and cleaned and cured before usage.

The reddish color should not be a problem.

It comes from the soil the coral tuff was taken from.

Some soils are reddish others more yellow.

Anyway, using natural materials in tanks is never 100% save.

It can always be the one of a million rocks with some toxic elements inside.

But what we can say is, that we sold many tons over years of the coral tuff.

It is used in small reef tank up to public aquariums without any complaints.

Means to us: it is save.

Besides: Even better might be our Jurassic Reef Rock ( Flyer attached ).

This type is really well cleaned and has a perfect red algae look.

I would soak it for a couple of weeks flushing with fresh water once in a while then use it.
