So, there’s different types of dragonets, and I wanna be clear which I’m talking about here. When you look at ORA captive bred mandarins, there’s a green and a red, and they look Very similar. I was wondering if anyone had adult pics of the two to compare?

Again, to clarify, I’m not asking about ruby red dragonets or scooter dragonets, purely the mandarin dragonets.
Thanks

i cant think

There’s no difference in care but colour wise it’s all down to the fins.
Here’s 3 photos of the 3 Mandarin Dragonets. 2 are Synchiropus splendidus and 1 is Synchiropus picturatus.

1. Synchiropus picturatus - This is the easiest to ID species out of all the Synchiropus species IME.
2. Synchiropus splendidus - This is the Blue variation of this species, I believe these two may actually be a subspecies scenario that has yet to be studied.
3. Synchiropus splendidus - This is the Red variation, characterised by much more red over the body and also the pectoral fins are usually a red ‘shade’.

Thank you! I was really struggling to find definitive pics online that showed the difference, and these were super helpful
