So I was interested in some Madagascar clowns for my new build however I had no idea they had such a healthy price tag. So I believe I’ve found something that’s a very close second in the Red Sea clowns. Anybody have any? They look to be a much chunkier clown that may grow a sort of lyretail? I could be completely off though, I found a nice pair in the 2-3” range that I’m excited to get once the tank is up and running

They are part of the clarkii group so yes they will be bigger and “chunkier” than other clowns. Nice clowns.

I have a fully adult pair ...mine are about 6" now ..spawn every 21 days .. their stripes become more blue-ish as they age.. beautiful fish ...and unlike the rest of the clarkii bunch- bicinctus dont dig in the sand and fan the sandbed the way others in that group most always do ..VERY nice fish to keep ...if you can find them .
