Red Sea G2 seam fail

Well it’s looks as if the Red Sea G2’s suffer the same problem as the G1’s. My G2 which was replaced under warranty 2 years ago has now failed on the front seam again. A replacement tank only is being sent under warranty but no stand as they said that would be fine. A

las I can’t bring myself to swap it all over again so my reefing journey is over. 2 tanks in 4 years is just terrible from such a big company. Good luck to all those who have Red Sea tanks

what kind of silicon are they using? must be the cheapest c*** possible, I live in Brazil and the market is basically customs and made by some people that can barely read most of the time, we never hear of tanks leaking, much less seams failling like that.
To be honest a long time ago I remember the firsts red sea, AIO was the ones that leaked....

Apparently the Red Sea rep says there is no documented seam fails for G2 tanks, which I know isn’t true due to all the posts I’ve seen.

Don't know if it's possible, but are you able to place a long level or something flat that does not deflect along the underside? Just interested if there is any deflection in the top board with the full tank on it. Does the level lay completely flat in all directions, no gaps or wobble.

There is a couple I know who have completely broke them down and resealed them but these are very experienced DIY experienced people in the hobby. If you have a G2 shouldn’t it still be under warranty? I thought they did 5 year warranties for the G2 models

What brand can anyone recommend for a 90 gallon because with some modification it could fit the rs stand 48 x18 x 24. We have to extend it some. Can anyone give me some brands that are good but not break the bank?
I bought my rs from a lfs that was are re-sale. No warranty for me. In March I did not see all these failures for rs.

I think SCA has a 48x18x24 as a standard tank. But their website is a little funky right now

I would reach out to RS and ask about a replacement. I know the tank was used, but with all the issues, they know they have a problem. They might replace. It does not hurt to ask.

Just ordered a glass cages tank. Already i am impressed with the professionalism and responsiveness. Their reputation of quality is excellent as well. Custom 5’ tank ended up being around 1500ish. Shipping is a bit spendy though.

Floating front glass panel is not the problem. Many many companies use this design, including a company Red Sea stole/copied the design from

I can understand this... - I hadn't considered bowing due to the thickness and rigidity of the bottom. - I would think that the downward pressure on the front pain (due to not being supported) would be a contributing factor. There is no downward pressure on the front panel (ok…very little)...

Do you mean vertical cabinet bracing in the front ?

Or the front pane of glass extending approx 1/2” off the cabinet surface, so the doors close flush with the tank
