As far as I know the only thing changed was the pitch of the thread of the knob, now it needs more turns to move the same amount as the old one making the adjustment finer. Still a poor design for a valve for a low flow environment.Looks exactly like the old one but its red. What did they change on it?
no its not the same, the diaphragm is concave before it was more convex. i just installed it my first impression is a 10 it was easy to adjust i was never able to adjust the old valve the way red sea said with water line 2mm under the emergency pipe but with this new valve i did in under 2 min, i will post here again in a mouth to let people know if its a good upgrade.Looks exactly like the old one but its red. What did they change on it?
So did you just get this part? You didn't get the rest of the assembly? So I picked up the Red Sea G2 valve for my 625xl it’s supposed to be a direct replacement and work better then the old onehere is a pic of the new design
just the part, fits right on 4 screws and doneSo did you just get this part? You didn't get the rest of the assembly?
Nice, I did wonder if the diaphragm would mate with the old part or not. Thanks for the info.just the part, fits right on 4 screws and done
Where did you get this part? Looking to upgrade my gen 1 valve. THanks! So I picked up the Red Sea G2 valve for my 625xl it’s supposed to be a direct replacement and work better then the old one here is a pic of the new design
It’s still a solid upgrade, glad I did it@Mike1970 any updates on the valve? Red Sea is replacing my g1 425 XL with the g2 after a leak. Fortunately I get an entirely new system. Unfortunately I have to re do all my custom plumbing and mods. Wondering if I should be planning on replacing their valve with a gate valve again.
Thanks for your time in advance!
