I’ve gotten phosphates down to .04! Everything’s looking really good right now. Coraline algae starting to grow, corals doing great, fish seem happy, fuge is doing great.

And I found a local guy that’s going to cut some reallly nice torches soon so I can replace my lost one without having to worry about shipping again

Tank looks good! I have a Clarisea 5000 that I am putting into a 150 gallon build that I am working on. I have a Reefer 250 and was considering putting in a 3000. How are you liking it?

I love it so far! It works perfect and keeps my water very clean. And I haven’t even changed the roll yet since I setup the tank, probably have another 2 weeks or so before I need to

The last couple days I’ve started to notice hair algae in the tank, barely any so far. So I added 6 trochus snails and I’ve cut way back on the feeding. I’ve been dosing to keep nitrates and phosphates measurable but I’ll probably keep them pretty low until this clears up. Hopefully adding the snails and cutting back on feeding will help.

But the good news is that I’ll be picking up my new torch coral tomorrow! Pretty excited

Found my first pest. One rock I have seems to be covered in quite a few ball anemones

Update time. Everything’s overall doing good. But I have been dealing with algae, very manageable so far though. I’ve had hair algae go from taking over my fuge to starting to spread into the display tank, but just here and there so not super worried. I’ve stopped dosing nutrients for now. I had some diatoms (so I think) on the sand bed but that’s almost completely cleared up now. Corals are all doing good, starting to notice growth on most of them. And as always, here’s a few pictures

I like your rockwork! It's interesting to see how people get arches and negative space in the Reefer 250. I'll be doing rockscape on my 250 in the next week or so, so thanks for the inspiration :)

What are the two corals in your last post that aren't zoas? Those are like face melting awesome.

Thanks! I was pretty stoked with how the aquascape turned out on this one.

Those are some hungry little acans and a My Miami chalice

So all the LFS around me are having trouble getting in a Mccoskers wrasse. I’m starting to consider other options. If anyone has any great ideas I’d love to hear it! I’m open to anything that will fit my tank well

Also the algae I’ve had going on seems to be dying off now that I stopped dosing nutrients. So far so good

Update:
I got all the algae completely cleared up by just letting the fuge take the nutrients to dang near zero. Once chaeto seemed like it was starting to die I started slowly dosing nutrients back up to readable levels, so far no algae. I’ve started keeping a close eye on alkalinity and calcium, they’re starting to drop slowly. I’ve started dosing Red Sea foundation accordingly.

And as always, here’s some new corals. Pretty excited about these ones.
- Holy Grail micromussa
- RR Asia Wolverine
- Walt Disney

So I usually am here to share the good news with everything. But this time I have some not so great news. I’ve been slowly dialing my lights up over the last couple weeks. Unfortunately I wasn’t paying too good of attention to my chalice and favia on the front center rock and I don’t think they are liking the extra light. Both of them are a bit “shrunken up” looking and have a couple tiny bits of skeleton showing. I’ve moved them to a lower light spot and I’m hoping they will recover. I guess I’ve been so focused on my sps that I kind of neglected these guys. If they don’t seem better in a few days I’ll probably take them out and dip or possibly cut off the dead area. Hopefully they recover, I really love these ones

Got some really nice coral frags going in this tank! Looking forward to seeing it all grown out! Following along as I also have a reefer 250. Like the rockscape and the tunnels. Thinking I need to redo mine so I get that open feel.
