That was my quick fix for now to suppress the noise until I have time to calibrate the speed again

I thought your tank looked to full from that picture, I guess you had the diaphram knob closed.

I installed a Geo Calcium Reactor and wow is my sump packed now! I also purchased an Aquarium Plants regulator. I will never buy another regulator again, the simplicity of this regulator takes all the "tinkering" out of the scenario. If more Calcium reactors came with a regulator like this, I think a lot more people would have more positive experiences with them.

After a Fresh water change and 72 hours later:
Ca:380
Mg: 1300
DK: 11

I will continue to check it every week, especially as my new corals from @uniquecorals come in today!

Stay tuned!

I had to make a skimmer stand, and it was the first time working with Acrylic. It came out just fine, and I am excited to start more acrylic projects. I just need to make cleaner cuts, the blade i had for my circular saw made a pretty rough cut.

I have been putting off purchasing a second kessil for my Giesemann light fixture, but due to a good work bonus, I was able to complete my light. I came across a couple of issues that I wanted to fix. First of all on my first DIY build I used the stock Kessil power strip, but once I installed the kessil in my giesemann i used a lot of cord in the fixture that didn't give me enough room to connect it to my Apex. So I used a barrier strip to run one cord to power the both Kessil's.

Barrier Strip to power both kessil's.

I stacked both power bars in the center of light fixture in between both MH reflectors. I ran all the wires, the audio able to power the second Kessil, and the power all around the MH reflector.

Final wiring test run before I close it up.

This is what teh light looks like when it is completed.

I upgraded to a Tunze 9410 skimmer. I purchased a 9415, but it was way to big for my tank.
My vertex omega 150 was just way to loud for my living room and this tunze is dead silent when the air valve is open all the way. Plus the Tunze with the 4" sock allows me to run my carbon the way Zeo vit intended.

not to mention it cleared up a ton of space in my sump!

Quick update. I took out the sand thinking it was my sand creating the phosphate problems however, I still had a problem after taking the sand out. My last thought was to take out the rocks, and sure enough the BRS reef saver rocks were leaching phosphates, even after cycling for a month. I am not sure what happened there. i will post some pictures soon of the new aquascape, but i am really liking the lower aquascape. Stay tuned!

Before:

After
20160125_145459_zpslbq7yydu.jpg

So this is the tank with the bare bottom and some more live rock.
I am going to start dosing some Kalk in my ATO, so I can get some good coralline algae growing.
I also love the Side view, this view makes me think my next tank will be a peninsula style tank.
20160202_195306_zpsqdxtad4z.jpg

live stock down to my main fish that I started the tank with.
4 clowns,
3 yellow tanks,
3 Green Chromis,
and my tail spot blenny, and random shrimp and clean up crew.
I lost my anthias and I purchased the auto feeder from neptune, so I may give anthias another shot now that the bare bottom tank is keeping all things super stable, especially with Zeovit.

Right now my favorite coral in the tank is by far the Pink Mili from @uniquecorals
20160202_195319_zps88gultqa.jpg

Just a quick update for now I was in my first live coral sale, which was fun, but way to enticing to purchase everything as the different waves of corals came out. I do think I will try and attend more since my local LFS's are a bit limited. (in my opinion)

I feel like I am limited to purchase online since my LFS's are pretty limited in stock in both dry-goods and livestock. I feel this just forces me to read reviews and forums before I make a good purchase.

I got some corals from a local reefer and some from Cherry Coral's live sale, i will be posting more pics when the "lights" are back on.

I got this coral from a local reefer, but i am not sure what it is, its a deeper purple, any ID help would be helpful.
