Midwest Reefer
This Red Sea reefer portion of this newly combined setup has been running for a little less than a year (probably more like 8/9 months if I was to guess I have to check that time and update that later) I had all of these pics here ready to go so I figured I’d go ahead and get this thread started. the Red Sea has been doing great between the LPS growth and the amount of SPS growth I really can’t complain at all! Now I know I don’t have any massive colonies at this point but I’ve been keeping reef aquariums for approximately 14 years. over a year ago I had to pick up and move to the Midwest for family purposes and it was easier to take my old system down and part it out in that state and just start over here in this new home so that’s the reason for the young system. I want to build up a nice collection again like I used to have so that’s really the reason for the newly added tank. It will serve as a frag tank down the road/ display/ holding tank for fish and coral. I am currently 3d printing frag racks and I have dry rock that I never got around to using that will be perfect for a little structure or multiple shallow structures.
(2 little fishies staxx.)
this is a redsea reefer xl200 x zoo med 50g lowboy that is drilled and plumbed right into the redsea stock sump. I drilled the red sea’s stand with a 1’ glass bit and ran the plumbing directly through the holes. I used unions incase I have to make any changes/ repairs later on. Overall I’m happy with the way this project has been going and im excited to continue on with this thread and have the opportunity to look back on the process and the progress of this combined system.
i will be incorporating products from dr.Tim’s aquatics and ASF equipment into this build as much as possible so shout out to them !
just wanted to start this out so I will get back to this with some specifics and updates. Hope you enjoy the build
