red slime in fuge

well my fuge is completely covered red slime cyano and my question is should i leave it or should i turn off the lights for a while it looks horrible my display has none but my fuge is a huge mess what should i do?

If your tank is new (less than nine months), this is normal. If it is more, you have phosphate/silicates issues or very low flow. Both can be corrected.

Flow in Sumps is usually really slow, installing a powerhead in there most times will take care of that problem for you. Once you get the powerhead in there stir up the cyano to get it out.

I've been having the same issue in my fuge...treating with Chemipure right now...my setup is about 3 months old too.

If your tank is less than 6 to 9 months, Yates going thru tank cycling. Once the sponges and tunicates will establish, cyano will go in no time.
