Also, watch out for those cats when you start getting fish in that sweet new tank. One of mine has become very fond of watching the fish and occasionally forgets she cant get through the glass. She pulled my gyre magnet down and sideways changing up the flow in the tank one day while i was at work. Caused a nem to leave the island. Other than that(and now the magnet rubber looks like it has seen some things...), i think it kinda helped get more flow in the middle of the tank so i kinda just left it. You in that pic you quoted, its the one on the left. Anyways, short story long, your cat might like your tank as much as you do :)

Do you just have to send Adam a message? Any idea on the cost, I spent divorce amounts of money on corals last night

way easier. you just post here that you want in, and follow the hashtag #battlecomp for any other updates. Then they will make an official registration thread and Adam will email you a link to buy the contest frag.
You should be good to save up for a bit, i bet this one is at least a few weeks/month before actually launching

Yep that's where I usually find these threads too. I get notifications for Tbrown's 70gallon build every now and then, and everyone once in a while ill see fishguy242's thread pop up. It's crazy

Mine and Frank's threads don't get a ton of traction these days. I spend most of my free time elsewhere unless I see movement.

Ok, tank related update:

Today is the 1 year mark for my first Battlecorals grow-out contest. I think it was pretty fun and would encourage any of you with time and desire to enter one if you get the chance. Was really cool to see how this same coral took different growth forms and a little color differences in other peoples tanks as well as be able to compare how fast yours is growing to theirs.

Here is the frag i received January 14th of 2025:

Thank you! There are some very nice pieces for sure. Would be really great to be in the top 3!

Some very bum luck with your white bugs though, but your collider has some solid mass already. When it does branch, it is going to explode! Will be really cool to see how that contest shakes out too

@skey44's post made me realize something I hadnt noticed, they really hook you up with some good frags eh? Thats like 2 or 3x what some vendors send you when you buy a frag!
