Back to school day here. My 8yo was super excited, but then, she is a little social butterfly and loves being at school. Had to get one final hurah in up the mountain yesterday though. Bought her a new pole for the occasion, she graduated from her barbie kiddie pole to a spinner. She even caught one all by herself!

And also this guy. He helped me reel a few in.

Nice! I just bought my oldest two each a spinner real. We’re going to go try them out this weekend if weather cooperates.

We hit some weather, luckily we just hung out in the car and ate lunch while it blew over. Tell you what though, the kids were not ready for high mountain lightning that first BOOOM and they were a little scared, i had to coerce them back out of the car once it passed.

Speaking of that essence... There is a fairly large meat processing plant a little less than a mile up the road from our facility here. It was very auraful this morning.

I thought that was quite fun, any and all comments related to bucolic myasma were purely in-jest and should in no wise be applied in the litteral. I had a good friend years ago who had a surprising breadth and depth of vocabulary with whom it was fun to have the occasional loquacious repartee, and thought to replicate such lexical exchange here. It was not as well received as i had hoped. Back to the hillbilly/redneck talk fer me sounds like :)

Probably a lot of truth to that. This plant only slaughters them and processes the meat. The rest gets hauled off every day or two.

Spent some time with my reef today, tests n whatnot. Sticks are all still looking fantastic, Alk has been sitting around 7.0, which is a sight better than 4.8... so that is good. Nitrates are bottomed out, the test was clear, no pink at all, time to up my ammonia game a bit. I must admit, I had been dosing that by hand but have been slacking lately. Other than that, mag was in the 1100, i dosed somewhere between 60 and 80ml. Kinda just was winging it TBH, as long as it is more than 1200 and less than 1400 i usually don't care (and only test it 2-4 times a year, which is why that hot bucket of IO last year was so brutal... i would like to say 'lesson learned' but i am an old dog with that new trick)

Oh, and i mixed up a gallon of AFR, thank you for pointing out that i should have that on hand in liquid form @TheWB :)

I love that you can let your tank swing parameters so wildly and it still thrives
