So I have redbugs not a big deal I guess as I have treated past tanks for them with interceptor. I don't want to do a whole tank treatment as i never planed to keep acros in this tank and i like my pods, but i got some from a friend that i dont want to part with. My plan is to sepetate my acros and do a Bayer dip as I have had great results with it killing redbugs. I will QT the acros for 10 days as I have read the the life cycle for redbugs is 5 days, but more never hurts. I will do a Bayer dip on day one then another on day 5 to get the rest.

Should this be sufficient?

Yes this will work. Redbugs give birth to live offspring so there's no waiting for eggs to hatch. If you dip and qt there's no need to repeat dipping.

If they're in you tank you need as well treat your tank too.
Having a few fish like wrasses of damsels that will go after them is always fascinating to watch but a pest free tank even more.
Stocking your tank later with pods is easy in a later stage.

Without acropora how will the redbugs survive in my tank?

In theory, no.
The thing is, if they were to move over to a nice LPS coral, they could snack on that for a while.
I'm told Interceptor is now available again, so you might just best treat the system.

Interesting so redbugs could potentially use another coral type to sustain itself? Ya I belive it's back I think my vet has it, but who knows if they will sell it to me if I'm honest haha
