Hi all,

Does anyone know of a cheaper alternative to the RedSea 100 micron fine polish fleece filter socks?

I’ve tried other fleece socks from Amazon, but the plastic ring is a little larger than that of the RedSea socks.

I like how the RedSea socks fit like a glove, but I don’t like that they are $11 each.

Any info you can provider would be greatly appreciated.

If you want an exact fit without cutting or jamming. No, I'm not aware of one. I like my RedSeaReefer for what it is, but that is one of the more annoying things. My solution was to get a RedSeaReefer media cup and fill with it sponge/floss. Pays for itself in a short time. But if you're looking for something specific re: 100 micron - you could possibly use the media cup and buy some 100 micron ringless bags for much cheaper and work out something - maybe a 10" bag that you can drape over the lip of the cup or an old plastic ring to hold it.

That is an excellent idea! Thank you so much for taking the time to reply. I'm going to try that.
