Hello Reefers. Happy New Year!

I got the Redsea NanoMat for my Nano Max G2 XL on boxing day as it was on sale.

Just curious for anyone who has one. I know it only came out in Sept 2024.

How long does your roller last. I am 6 days into using it an my roller is almost out. From what I have read it should last around 4 weeks not 1.

Seems pretty expensive to do a roller a week when its 30$ for a pack of 2 (CAD).

Any info/experience would be helpful.

Cheers!

I do not have mine (yet) but I have read there is a break in period where they burn through the rollers pretty quick at first but then the amount of time between changes increases by quite a bit.

I have had mine since the 3/10/24 and it is probably a few days from finishing the roll it came with.

I use it on a red sea max nano with 4 fish and lps/soft corals.

Your usage seems very excessive, it's been a brilliant little filter for me.

Thanks for the info. I also suspect it ate up half the roll cuz if swapped out my sand and my tank was a white cloudy mess which it cleared up in 24 hours very nicely...

I did have to take it out yesterday through.. my Phos and Nitrate bottomed out at zero after it running for a week and some of the corals are suffering... its too good of a filter on my tank right now.. not enough waste built up in the new gravel to maintain good nutrient levels for my corals.

Going to put it back on in a couple months when my nutrients get to where I want them.

Tank is only 4 months old.. but I used Fiji Pink sand... terrible mistake knowing I was going SPS dominant.. the flow has sand tornadoes everywhere before I sucked it all out.

Haha I wish it filtered nitrates and phos. I also have a 4 month tank and its 23.5ppm nitrate and 0.90 phosphates. To my knowledge filter is not reducing at all.

Does anyone know if they have a warranty on them, the electric roller head won’t turn on suddenly, tried all the usual in plug, plug in, plug in another outlet etc. No dice. I only got it in Sept 24z
