Last question and I appreciate this. Is the legs with the 45 going to work on the 60” tank

I think it would because the meridian 45 is made to light tanks up to 60”. Its 44.4 inches wide and the tank mount adds up to 16”

The Meridian 45 combo with the bars is a good value and comes with the bars, articulating mounts, and the upgraded 600w power supply + daisy chain cables, so you can power the whole setup off a single power supply and only need to run one cord to the light. The only thing you would need is the side tank mounts

Yes the side legs will extend out far enough to fit a 60” tank.

Does anyone have pictures of how they hung their lights? Looking to use the hanging wires to hang it, I see lots of pictures of the wires holding up the light... but not where the wires go the ceiling or wherever it goes. Some inspiration pictures of that would be great. I've always used back of tank mounts and have never hung anything

I hung my 24 like this. Very easy.

How one attaches then to a ceiling depends on how the ceiling is constructed and how much weight you want to hold up.

Also can depend on if you rent or own.

Go to about 10 min to get an idea of ceiling strength.
Note 1/2" sound drywall
No idea how this works for old lath/plaster with so many variations/ age/ condition.


Personally I always prefer joist mounting but joists parallel to the long axis and no access to them is annoying.

I just made the purchase, this picture does not do these lights justice. But dang do they make my corals look great. I got over the price real quick.

I agree. My corals look better than ever

I have a friend with a large tank and he recently upgraded from Red Sea leds to the meridians. Not only did the corals look better right after the meridians were installed, several continued to gain color and after about two weeks they look better than ever.

That's awesome to hear, I just installed mine a couple days ago. Switched from 4 Redsea 160's and 4 T-5. Those lights don't have a chance to compare to these.

Currently running 2 Radion XR30s Pro and 1 Radion XR15 Pro in middle on a 60 x 24 x 21 SPS only tank. Corals are doing Ok, nothing to write home about but getting some growth. What drives me crazy about Radion’s is the glare, almost blinds my wife and I sitting across the room. For the price and along with cheap plastic housing, I cannot recommend them! How is the glare on Meridans? Supposedly ATI Straton Flex has very little glare but can’t find anything about Meridian. Both lights seem similar but …?

I've had the 63 Miridians for two weeks now, no glare that we can notice. We had 4 Redsea 160's with 4 T-5 and my wife couldn't sit in the room with them all on. Now she can sit in the same room with no issues.

Thanks for both replies, that is very helpful and appreciated. I am assuming that the edge bars (for Vintage) also knocks down any light spillage because it also blocks front to some degree. What edge bars are you using Vintage?

So after running the meridians for 2 full days now after having photons, I have to piggyback onto the others saying moonlight is too bright.

I love the lights, but I have two tanks running 0.1% lunar cycle in the same room. Photons on my 65g and meridians over my 180g. The photons running lunar are perfect. The meridians with lunar cause my fish to be active and the coral is partially opened up. Just my two cents.

I recently added Meridian 45 for my Red Sea 525XL, coming from a Photon V2 48". I also found the moonlight to be bright even in the .1% setting. My solution for this was to extend my sunset time to midnight (12 am) and keep my main lighting period from 7am to 10:30pm with a 2.5 hour ramp up and down period. I then added a segment that allowed me to set the Royal Blue channel to 1% from 10:30PM to midnight to give a period of moonlight. It then shuts off from 12 midnight to 7am to allow the fish and corals to sleep.

I'm still on the fence on buying for my 120 4 foot. I have the photon now so what would you all recommend?
