Been a bit of time, so here's an update!

The tank is definetly going through some nasties at the moment. Currently have a mix of dino and diatoms. I've started dosing Microbacter Clean to help alleviate the problems, along with daily blasting the rocks and sand. I've added a strawberry conch, which is helping keep the sand clear.

You can see the conch on the right side, keeping the sand nice and white.

I'm hoping in another week or two, things will start to clear up.

This tank is going to look great! Just be patient with the algae blooms, what are the dimensions of the tank?

Tank update!

Sorry for the long delay, but the tank is finally crystal clear and algae free. I simply added two cups of my sand from the Reefer 350 display I have, and ran a 2 day blackout. The tank has been running algae free for a few weeks, so the next step is to find more rock flower anemones to bring a bit more color.

Here's some pictures from yesterday:

The tiny Bubble magus Mini Q skimmer is quite the workhorse! You can see how dark the skim is, with foam already coming out the top in the last picture. I empty it roughly every week, but will be hooking up a skim collection bottle soon.

Cycle seems to be about half way complete!

Ammonia - 0
Nitrite - 4ppm

I’ve gone head and printed some RFG nozzles to have a better flow pattern in the tank. Printed two that are slightly different sizes to confirm fit. So far they have made a massive difference!

I just bought the flat 10, do you have a link to print these out?

I actually removed the nozzles as they really cut back the flow in the tank.

Update!

The tank is slowly turning into a mixed reef, but things are doing very well! Daily Microbacter7 dosing with live phyto seems to be doing the trick. Thinking about adding a couple additional rockflowers and some zoas to grow out and add additional color.
