reef-nut bad news all around

Well I hate to leave negative feedback, but it looks like I got conned out of some nice corals. I traded with reef-nut a few weeks back, I sent him some large Haitian ricordia colonies and in return he was going to send me

Fruit Loops 80+ $100 sells 10 for $50 on other sites

PPE 4 $100
Mohawks 6 (from you) $65 plus shipping
Eagle Eyes 50+ $75

with no pictures of anything from him.

I don't usually trade without pics, but he had purchased from me in the past so I figured it would be ok. I sent the corals out and he received them on March 11.

Larry told me

The rics look awesome. The color of the orange is different than any I got. The sour are awesome.

but he also said

My 3 year old boy fell and broke his arm. Its not a bad brake, but they want to operate on it to add a pin just to be sure. I am glad we have insurance. We will be in the hospital overnight. Everything should be fine to ship monday.

So I was like wow, take care of your son and we'll sort out the shipping next week if all is well.

Then I sent him an email on Mar 16 to check on the status.

On Mar 17th he wrote me saying his son has some strange infection that's causing his bones to be more fragile and they have to run a bunch of tests.

Of course I said I'll wait until the next week.

By March 23 I still hadn't heard anything from him.

But I noticed that he had posted on a thread here that night. I thought it was a little odd that he would be posting on here, but wouldn't take the time to email me just to give me a heads up.

So that evening I sent him a pm here checking on the status of things, but received no reply.

He posted on another thread on March 25th. But somehow had no time to respond to my pm.

I sent him another pm on March 26th threatening him with negative feedback if he didn't respond to me.

On March 27 he sent me a pm saying how his son is really sick and he has no reason to live and he doesn't care if he gets banned.



Now his profile has been reduced to guest and I'm sure I will never hear from him again.

I'm a very patient and understanding person, but whether this guy has real problems or not, does not excuse him from communicating with me.

So watch out for Larry Henry from Ponca City, OK.

I don't often wade into these issues, but I've followed too many of these threads on reef boards over the past year and feel compelled to comment. What a strange and pathetic subset of "hobbiests" these sociopathic little thieves and con artists are. These labels apply to both private parties and vendors who manipulate and steal from people who entrust to them, in good faith, their hard-earned money or livestock. The most pitiful of bad-faith traits seems to be present in this current case: The purposeful "communication cut-off" technique. It never ceases to amaze me how many posts and/or photos these people can produce at the inception of their scam, contrasted starkly by a disappearing act on the boards upon the receipt of the forwarded funds or livestock. The lame excuses they (or, more often an acquaintance of theirs) finally, and fleetingly provide are not sufficient in this age of instant messaging and streamlined communication and do not hold up to even the simplest scrutiny. Sadly, I am convinced that the primary reason this malevolent behavior seems to be on the upswing is due to the collapse of simple moral values and forthright character in our society. In other words, a growing number of citizens no longer feel empathy for others, or shame for their misdeeds. What a sad state of affairs.

Yeah it sucks. But luckily it doesn't happen often and at least I got the ricordia wholesale, so I wasn't out tons. Its bound to happen that a certain percentage of our society lacks moral fiber. But I don't let it affect my attitude towards new people I meet and deal with in the future.

I do subscribe to the theory.

you can call it Karma, christianity or whatever you want but I firmly believe that whatever you or I do it will come back to haunt us.

I have paid for my misdeeds (I hope)
(I was an buthead and a binge drinker early on in my adult life)

I now try to do right by everyone and give them a chance, I have helped out friends I barely know and usually ask nothing in return just hoping that I am somehow making up for a bad past.

Well long and short of it that is how I keep on keepin on :)

if you want someone that will do you right, iamrit is a really good guy here in atlanta. he has a ton of zoas frags. he may sell more the most retail stores here haha
