Reef Pi Gmail mail issues

I just noticed I stopped receiving alerts from reef pi a while back. I did not have time to look into it and not finally had some time. All my credentials are unchanged even entered them again to be sure and its giving me bad credentials when it tries to send a test message, I was reading and it says on gmail that they stopped allowing less secure app access. is there any alternative to using gmail that can function the same way? or a work around? I have read through past posts and tried there suggestions and app password with

no luck.
