Was gifted this 90g. I want to painted the back of the tank inside the aquarium to hide the external overflow box. Scanning forums I see a lot of hobbyists have used Krylon fusion with no issues (aside from the eventual chipping). Any experience or ideas would be appreciated.

Assuming the tank is glass, could you silicone a thin sheet of colored (black) acrylic to the back inside the tank? It's known that silicone has a hard time sticking to acrylic for structural seams but my AIO has it siliconed to the back of the glass overflow section. there are no structural considerations for that application so it can be done.

I could. It'd just be easier to paint lol. I would need a piece for under the overflow, 2 for both angles and the back. A can of krylon is cheaper than that much acrylic.

Agreed. I only offered for longevity. I've never painted the inside since paint does't typically stick to glass on the inside which you have already mentioned.

Krylon fusion is really good stuff though. I use it when I paint the back of tanks on the outside.

Is that a DIY tank?

I don't think I would paint the inside of a tank. Maybe some epoxy paint would be ok once fully cured but not sure if I would do it. If you ever need to scrape the back chances are you will start scraping paint too. Maybe some sort of false background?
