on 02-06-2013, I had a tank leak please follow my thread starting post #2961 for what happened during the tank leak.. 2 weeks later, I found a crack on my "new" pine stand from Aqueon and had to replace it.. a knot in the middle on one of the panels started the crack and walked up and down. the next posts details the stand switch.

took out the Yellow Tang and Majestic and they had their own holding bin for themselves.

on to the first hiccup. we were planning on leaving the rest of fishes in there but didn't work out.. I had originally planned to put the tank on our futon, but totally forgot that I have a corner overflow/return. this will come into plan in another huge problem later... this kinda work out as we had more room to paint the back glass. we lined up 4 chairs we use in the dining room and sat the tank there to prep for painting. the problem we had with the fishes was the sand got moved around so I got freaked out when I saw the cloudy water and saw the fishes swimming in that stuff. we quickly took them all out and had a few fishes in each bucket.

02-22-13Pic916A_zpsc8eefb75.jpg

much thanks to Poseidon for helping me with this issue. used facetime to show Mike the whole stand and we decided that it's alright to cut through what we need to fit the plumbing. I'm so glad that this stand had extra support around the corners. looking at DIY stands on YouTube, the extra support really helps in supporting the weight of the tank. this stand is pretty solid.
02-22-13Pic916_zps7c43828d.jpg

the problem we had at this point was, we didn't have the right tools to cut the stand. looked around the house and this is what I found.
02-22-13Pic917A_zps42ad570c.jpg

thank goodness, the wifey thought about buying this kit at Ikea while it was on sale. so out of the kit, came this.. a large steak knife, I mean a saw.. hahaha...

here's the scene of the crime before I retired for the night/morning.. took a shower and went straight to bed. started at 8pm and finally in bed at 5am. overall, besides a few hiccups; it turned okay.. so glad that was done. still have a lot to do but now, I'm liking what we came up with. much props again to my bro, JR (Mabisyo) for helping out. much thanks again Poseidon for helping us solve the biggest problem we had. and thanks to all that are following this thread during the toughest times. hope its good news to report from here on.. :)

took these shots real quick. I'm really liking the scape. lighting: (4) Blue+ & (1) Fiji Purple only

FTS -- 3 islands with lotsa cave. there's room in the back of the scape for the fishes to hide when they get scared.
02-24-13Pic1FTS_zpsc6a8b092.jpg

Left side -- there's caves on the left and right side of the main ceramic rock where the BTA's are atm. Majestic swims in and out of them. kinda cool to watch.
02-24-13Pic4Left_zpsa5406475.jpg

Middle -- hopefully to be a Sunburst BTA island
02-24-13Pic3Middle_zps13380da1.jpg

Right side -- again, there's a cave the Majestic can swim and out from.

wanted to share these pics of the Sunburst BTA as this morph is definitely my favorite morph of the bunch. I do however have some other morphs that I hope to add in the near future, when the tank recovers from all the mishaps the past few weeks. I'll probably wait til next month to see if I can try adding another nice BTA morph. also, a few pics of the tank since i changed the scape from 3 islands to just 2. the huge rock that used to house the Sunburst lost its purpose as the Sunburst decided to move to the ceramic rock next door. haha.. I really like how the two island looked turned out. a bunch of caves for the fishes to swim in and out (even the Yellow Tang and Majestic can fit on some of the caves). ofcourse, a short FTS vid is added just to complete the update. any input is appreciated. :)

Did a google search and liveaquaria said they need to be fed 2-3 times a day.
Is that what you are doing?
They also said they were jumpers.................

I feed the tank 2-4x/day depending on how long I'm home during photoperiod. I have an auto feeder that feeds pellets 2x/day. When I'm home, I thaw out 2 cubes of frozen and feed small amounts every hour or so until all gone. :)

I like them, but I normally don't feed my 240 every single day and never more than once per day.
