Hello wondering if anyone has setup a 100 gallon reef tank on a luxury vinyl plank flooring?

Most likely will be fine,issue is expansion/movement of the floor because of environmental changes like temp and humidity

We purchased a beach property previous owners DIY the kitchen installed the kitchen island screwed down ontop the floor after the floor was installed plus the weight of diy concrete countertops we winterized the house temp was left at 55 over winter came back the following summer season and the floor was buckled and separated all around the island and doorways wound up replacing the entire floor and made sure to leave 3/8 expansion along every perimeter covered by trim never had a issue since

I have a 320 gallon on lvp floating on slab. It's been fine.
I'm sure I will have to redo that part of the flooring if I ever took the tank out.

It has not had any trouble at the joints around the tank. 2 years now.

I own a hardwood flooring company and we work with luxury vinyl all the time. Bottom line is the worst thing that will happen is you'll void the manufacturers warranty. The flooring "may" separate if it needed to shift. These floors will typically need to shift around when installed over traditional plywood subfloors as the structure shifts. We have, however, found very little to no movement over concrete either on or below grade.
If your concerned about the flooring, cut it out where the tank stand will sit and trim around it.

I forgot that they might mean on the main floor. I had to be careful for sure to avoid separating seams. But I stopped at cutting the floor out., someday someone will sell the house besides I fear my Wife

It depends on how long of a span there is between breaks/expansion spaces. The longer the span, the move it’s going to expand / contract with seasons. Another words, the bigger the room the more it expands on the ends. Let’s say it needs 3/16” -1/4” per 10-15 feet. If it’s one continuous run between rooms (no breaks at doorways) it’s going to expand a lot. If you live in a place where temp and humidity doesn’t change much throughout the year it’s less of an issue

Was not aware of that. Another thing I forgot about is to place your stand on plywood. Considering that water alone is 10 lbs. a gallon the floor under is not going to expand but considering previous statement the floor around may. All I know is that I have a 40 in a space with about 3 inches on one side to my fireplace, the other side about 2 feet. My other tank on the opposite side of the room has less than a foot from the side to the wall, the other side about 15 feet to the other wall. I have had no issues but my flooring is about 3/8 thick
