Reefbrite power supply modification question

Wondering if anyone has modified their reefbrites to put out their full potential at 3 watts? I know each LED is rated for up to 3 watts but is running only at 1.5watts. I have a gen 2 that is not adjustable.

My question is... had anyone played with any other source of power supply with these to try and get them up to 3watts? Thanks.

The reason why reefbrites are driven below 3W is to keep them cool in a small form factor. I don't think you can run things much higher without potentially affecting the life of the LEDs unless you think of dissipating the extra heat.

I emailed reefbrite recently regarding the power controller that the older units came with... and they told me they are working on a new power controller compatible with all reefbrites will be coming soon... don't believe it'll have that feature though:squigglemouth:

yeah i like the older version just because you can dim them
