Just bought this brand new tank from a local reefer manufactured by Custom Aquariums. Been inside ac room and never seen water before. The first 20 minutes test was ok so i left for lunch and this happened while i was out.Contacted the manufacturer and they wanted nothing to do with it since am not the Original owner. Brand freaking new and this happened.

Thats rough, hopefully not much damage done to your house? If its still recent laying towels down to soak up water and a shop vac may help a lot.

I'd be ticked. My question is why did they sell a brand new tank?

Not going to lie, that is a USED tank. A brand new tank would be from a retailer and you'd have a receipt as proof of purchase.

I had a small flood this weekend as well, so I feel your pain, but nothing on this scale.

You always have to be wary of buying used tanks. The owner can say "never saw water" or "perfect condition" but doesn't make it true. I would bet this tank or stand was not level whenever it was stored and the pressure put a small stress point on the seam. Adding the pressure from the water pushed it over the edge

It not a used tank, it brand new that i bought from a local reefer.
Oh I misunderstood. I thought it was gently used and that’s why they wouldn’t do anything because you weren’t the one to purchase.
Still horrible though. The pics of your house give me the shivers

Sorry about this. Id suspect the the person you bought it from. People dont usually sell something because they think its amazing. Maybe they knew something was wrong with it? How much did you get it for?

Unfortunately, unless you are the original owner with receipt, you do own a “used” tank in the eyes of the manufacturer.
Think about it from their view point:
They sold the tank to “person A”
That person did who knows what with it and stored it who knows how....
“Person A” sells you the tank.
the manufacturer have no idea what happened while the first owner had it or stored it or when you picked it up from them and since you are the second owner it’s used it’s not new. They can’t just take the word of any person that the tank never had water, because well people lie and that life.
