So I'm starting to regret getting a reeflink over a WXM. My MP40s worked fine when I just changed the modes manually, using the reeflink is becoming a big headache. I'm not sure if im doing anything wrong but I have one mp40 set up as primary to program, and the 2nd one runs full anti sync (orange light).

During 20% NTM, the anti sync one just really locks to full 100% power constant speed mode, blasting everything around.while the primary tries to make waves and such (complete opposite from setting NTM manually) . Tried resetting units, reinstalling the current firmware, Reeflink froze up on firmware install and set both mp40s on wave mode at 100% spilling about 1-2 gallons on my floor.

Clueless if its a problem with the reeflink or MP40 at this point, anyone experience this before or have any suggestions?

Here is my schedule so far...tried to start with something simple and basic.

Hello, Firstly I don't think your doing anything wrong. I would like to offer the following points...

1. Remove the pumps from the tank and place them flat side down on a table or flat surface. There is no need for them to be in the tank if you are not sure of the outcome. No more skilled water.
2. Each of the MP40's will need to be updated to work correctly with the Reeflink. The fact that they both appear on ESL suggests you have done this correctly. S shouldn't need to keep doing it.
3. The Options you have selected for your Master pump aren't best suited for Sync / Anti Sync... Over the years I have come to find that option works best with Long and Short pulse now known as Gyre... NTM is a violent programme by its nature and not one I would anti sync against...
4. During the Reefcrest sections of the day I would stick with anti sync if you are happy with the flow from BOTH pumps is the slave actually doing what you want it to during this period? When it comes to NTM I would set the Slave pump to sync to get the best churn in the water.. You might find you can reduce the power this way as well.

Let me know how you get on.
Regards.

Thanks I'll try playing around with the other modes and try sync during NTM. Anti sync works fine during reef crest with great flow and it works fine during NTM when I set it manually, just goes crazy under reeflink. I just assumed the 2nd pump was to be set as 24/7 anti sync since it was opposite the master.

That's the joy of options... You could set one pump to a 5sec Gyre and leave the other in anti sync mode and it would work perfectly day in day out... Some schedules just seem to work better than others with the sync and anti sync options it's a matter of preference and tank life..
