I have this reefmat 1200 and it’s going through an ubsurd amount of filter roll. Almost ready to take it offline and go back to socks. Anyone experienced this?

how long does one roll last you? I generally get a month out of one roll. It also helps to increase the advance length to about the length of the bottom of the chamber, which reduces wear on the motor.

Things to look at -
How low is it sitting in the water
What is the auto advance set to
Have you got the media basket in still

I'm getting close around 6-8 weeks out of each roll.
Mine is sitting higher in the water than recommended (the water is just below the intake pipe, no media basket and auto advance is set to the minimum amount.

At that rate, it is also possible that the flow you are directing through it is simply too much.

Yeah, you're very likely trying to pass too much flow through it. Reduce the flow by half and see how it goes.

The only time mine used that much was when I had a dino infestation.

You may want to check how submerged the roll is and the flow through it. My rolls last me 2ish months on a 65gal with the smallest version.
