I’ve learned to enjoy feeding, testing, and water change time. Gives me a bit of time to focus on the tank and look closely for anything that may need to be adapted or if what I’m doing is what the tank needs.

No ... I bought one ... its not a"bad"anything, and it is certainly NOT a "gimmick". Its a very innovative, very well made product.
Question - does it take any frozen food - or do they have to be a certain shape, etc?
This thing is a HUGE benefit for the vacationing reefer.
Is it though? I worked out a long time ago that if my fish are maintained at a healthy body weight, asking them to go without food for a week or even 10 days is of trivial impact. OK, maybe if you're gone for a month it becomes a problem, but does this device hold enough for that long anyhow.
Personally - I dont like the concept - especially for the frozen food I feed - BUT - the lack of electricity is definitely a plus. - that said - I like feeding time. One thing I am surprised about in the general comments is that it isn't electric! I don't know about ya'll, but I'm at my limit with what more I can plug in. Having something that doesn't use electricity is awesome, NOT a negative.
PS - what is the price

Thanks for answering all the questions - very interesting....Sigh .... so do I. But since I work, and am gone from my home for 10 hours Mon-Fri, this allows me to feed my fish some in the middle of the day, and not make them wait until I get home at 5-5:30. It has some real good uses for vacations if you are dealing with people who don't have fish. One cylinder with one blue tray and 4 sticks is $100.
Its a very nice product. I'm disappointed in the negative comments on here from people who, according to all the banners under their names, should know better and have more respect for a someone who comes up with a VERY GOOD IDEA, whether they have the foresight to understand how it works and how it could be used or not.
I would definitely love something that somehow let you auto feed frozen foods. These though, isnt really what I would want. I would call this more of a slow or extended feeder rather than an automatic feeder. I want something I can stock maybe once a week and it feeds frozen... unfortunately that would basically require a dippin dots vending machine so how built into my canopy. haha.
I do love the labels on the sump though. I had a good laugh. Just need to add a label out side of the sump on the floor that reads "She's going to kill me"
