I just ordered the UFO150 LED Grow light for my refugium. All I am going to have in there is Chaeto. Does anyone have any experience with this light, specifically how much distance above the water it should be? My refugium is a 30 gallon tank. Also, how long should the lights be on? Some have suggested alternating with main display tank lights. Thanks.

I can’t speak to that light. I use a LED grow bulb from, all places, wallmart. Distance depends on intensity. A good starting place would be 6”-8”.

Reverse lighting schedule is done to aid in keeping up PH within the system. Start around 8-9hrs is a good place to start.

Now, nutrients. If you have enough in your water, it should grow. Lack of will result in yellowing or bleaching of chaetomorpha. If this is seen, try reducing your light intensity or height and photo period.
