Awhile back I added my first tester sps, superman monti. This thing is encrusting crazy fast.

Not a fan of the look of plugs in the display. Since it is encrusted so far off the plug I'm wondering if it would be possible to break the plug off? Is there a risk of damaging the colony? Can I snap that plug off without hurting the colony and allow it to fill in where the plug was?

Sorry for blue pic

You can and it will grow back into and over the void. I wouldn’t worry about it dying, but I would worry about it overtaking good real estate and encrusting over better, more valuable sps though, if you plan on keeping them near it.

Thanks ya its growing like a weed. Take is pretty much all LPS with just a few SPS up top. There is that spongodes behind it that I love so hopefully it doesn't decide to overrun it. Assuming if that were ever a problem I would be ready for a tank upgrade anyway
