Hey all
I have a 6ft long shallow tank that cracked tiny bit from one of the corners from the bottom. The bottom has 2 x 6ft long and 3" wide bottom glass braces siliconed on the bottom glass. The crack is covered by a bottom brace. I dont know if I should undo the whole bottom and put a new on or should I put a 6ft long center pane between the bottom braces like a false bottom, siliconed right on top of the bottom panel.

If you could provide some clear pictures of what your dealing with it would make it easier for people to give you advice.

If its the bottom panel itself- Will be a huge challenge as it is supported by all 4 glass panels and bears the weight of the rock, etc.

So what do you guys suggest I should do?
I dont think unsealing and removing all the silicon is something I can do.

As mentioned, pictures of what you are talking about will help everyone provide you with better feedback on how to proceed.

Depending on what you are dealing with, you may have to re-seal the whole tank, or you may not. Hard to say either way without seeing pics.

If its resting on styrofoam you could just silicone new glass over it. If not youd need to replace the whole bottom.

Taking aprat a tank is hard. Removjng the silicone less so. Steel wool and razor blades for the silicone. To separate the panels use fishing line and make like a saw. Good luck.
