Return pump step up super lose need help

Hello,

I just got my octo varios 4 and it comes with a step up for 3/4 hose but it doesn't lock in at all it just slips out. I dont know if I'm just stupid but I cant find a way to keep it snug. The top piece cant go on the pump without the larger bottom piece. If anyone knows what im doing wrong I'll appreciate it

They shouldn't sleeve over each other like that. Like you said, there should be a different "cap piece" that can accept the smaller size.

Maybe that barb fits into a different part of the pump?

Thats what I thought but it literally is to small to fit. Idk if im missing a piece but I bought it new. Also the website shows it stacked up which is confusing me too

Ill probably have to do that this is so frustrating not sure why they would include a fitting that doesnt work with the pump

Does anyone know if super glue or pvc cement would work? I definitely think it would hold it then
