Anyone have issues with the rfg with adapter on rs max e-170. I bought the rfg with loc line adapter compatible with the return of the max. The adapter is too small and doesn’t fit, am i missing something?

When I've had loc-line get loose I just use a wrap or two of teflon and that snugs it right up. I have done this for years with no issues. Granted I don't have a RSR but I don't see why it wouldn't work if it came down to it.

Edit
I forgot to mention that I do own and use the vivid rfg, it's great stuff for sure.

Thanks.
The problem is that the rfg and adapter won’t fit over the return so the Teflon wouldn’t work.

I can help with this

Can you tell me which adapter you purchased? the 16mm to 1/2in (RSM050LL) to the 25mm to 3/4in (RSR075LL)?

the 16mm to 1/2in Loc-Line adapts are for the small circulation pumps that are found on the back wall - all MAX tanks have these.

The return line for the sump is the same on the MAX series tanks that have a sump as they are on the Red Sea REEFER series tank. so for those you would want to use our 25mm Adapters. They are available in two sizes - 25mmm to 3/4in Loc-line and 25mm to 1/2in Loc-Line.

These are the same adapters that come with our Red Sea REEFER Ultimate Retun Line Upgrade kits as well

Hopefully helps point you in the right direction.

if you have the wrong adapter, we'll be happy to help you get the right one.

Looks like you have the right adapter.

it's going to have a pretty snug fit - so you may have to push a little harder. it can sometime help to rock the adapted back and forth a bit as you apply pressure on it to get it to slip onto the pipe.

if it's really tight, you can try adding the adapter to the outlet first BEFORE attaching the RFG.

if you still have trouble - give us a call and we'll be happy to work through it with you. You can reach me from 8am to 5pm MST

Thanks. I was able to get it! Took a lot of torque but the back and forth worked. Appreciate the help.
