I prefer the slower flow now since I am going to run a refugium. I can't decide if I should order another 9.5 or if a 7 will suit me better. I am afraid with the 9.5 I am going to have to choke it down quite a bit

So I have gotten stuck out of town and I am waiting on a new return pump and I got wondering about the bacteria in my rock. How long will they go without any food source? Should I add a drop or two of ammonia to keep everything stable until I come back in town. It took way to long to cycle the rock I don't want it to mess up.

It can go for a good while without a food source per say... as long as there is flow and all.. but if you wanted to just add a pinch of fish food that works just as good...

I went fallow once for 8 weeks with no fish.. only added a pinch of food once or twice a week with no issues

So I have been busy with work and the tanks. I got the new bulkheads and pump in. The new tank is in the house. Old tank torn down and cleaned out. Corals and fish stuck in holding tank. When I tore down the JBJ I started noticing that the acrylic where the water flows into has all but pulled apart from the glass and the glass baffles in the back. Trying to decide if I want to silicone them back or remove them all and make the tank bigger.

So with the holidays I have behind on updating. I got the little tank fixed and setup all is running smooth. The big tank is setup and settling in. I do have a quick question. The drain coming from the tank to the sump should that line be above the water line in the sump or submerged?

I absolutely love them! I got mine from innovative growlights, best price I could find and he was awesome to deal with. It's a little harder then most lights to color match since you have to adjust them separately but that is no big deal to me. The shimmer is amazing, it was the first thing the wife commented on.

Yeah honestly much easier than I thought. I think I was just way over thinking it because I had never done it before lol. So now to get this bad boy stocked up. Fixing to order some Gorgonians from KP Aquatics.
