Just an fyi, oil and water do not mix.

Not trying to be a parent either:) I am using the mexwax fast dry oil based urethane these days with a brush instead of a gun

I've got most of the equipment already because I bought the tank used. It was fully stocked with coral and live rock. The corals are currently in a 55 gallon tank until I get this one up and running. But I bought a few new items along with stuff I had laying around. I thought about buying a new skimmer but the Proclear 250 works really good. An because I won't have much bio load I think it will be perfectly fine. 3 or 4 small fish tops. I still need a biopellet reactor if anyone has one for sell.

Proclear 250 skimmer powered by Mag 9 (used)
Mag 12 return pump (used)
1 educator (new)
2 kessil A360 (used)
Kessil light controller (used)
And possibly an Apex JR controller I'm working up a trade on.

That's what I have I went with the satin finish.

I have a mixed reef in my 215g tank softies and LPS so figured I would give SPS another try in this system.

Dry rock and water going in today. I think two jebao PP-15 pumps might be too much for this

Up and running time to finish curing the rock. It's been in a tote for a month so shouldn't be much longer. I still have to build the light bracket but won't need any light until the rock is done.

For a cheaper skimmer this things a beast, after I upgraded the air intake.

Got the light bracket fabricated, painted, and installed for my two Kessil A360. I installed holes in the tubing to hide the wires for the lights and power heads. Excuse the paint behind the stand, we are still under construction.

Thanks, it's coming together faster than I thought. I tested my water today and no traces of ammonia or nitrite anymore.

So my rock was curing in a tote prior to setting up this tank with weekly 100% water changes from my 215g. I tested the water last night and have zeros across the board. The system has been going approx 6 weeks. My question do you guys think it's cycled? The last time I cured rock it took over two months, just nervous about adding any livestock.?

Very smart idea I thought of this as well for my upgrade, as I will need around 100lbs more and thought about doing the same, I would say good :-) but add slow, it's more the phosphates and stuff from when you do that

I need to invest in a digital phosphate tester, I hate standard test kits.
