New tank. Time to rebuild. :) almost no blue clove polyps can be seen.

Casualties: cleaner shrimp, red planet, unknown sps frag similar to red planet but pink and green, all gorgonians.

I'm really upset over the red planet. I grew it from a thumbnail sized ugly frag.

I'm running some tests right now to find out if it's from the fluke tabs or ammonia from the polyp die off. I have a bit of brown in the glass which leads me to think ammonia spike.

Yep. Got traces of ammonia and nitrites. :(

Not much but anything above 0 is too much. I'm using API tests and the color is above 0 but not quite the color of the lowest reading.

Everything else in the tank is fine. Including the clams.

Not one blue polyp left in the tank. I have so much more room now for new corals it's rediculous! Not that I'd go adding new things right now but once all this settles I can start collecting again. I'm stoked the polyps are gone! Thanks to all that helped with advice and support. :thumb:

Here's a top down shot of my new clam. From the front it's bluer but from the top it's greener. Impossible to take a pic of with blue leds on so it's under whites only.

You know how much I like the Clams, but even better, the Gorgan is looking healthy, nice, but no where as nice as the purples and dragons breath you let me have.

Glad you like it Yeti. I'd have some in this tank if my tang and blenny wouldn't eat it. I've tried them all and the fish go straight for it.

I am glad the blue cloves are gone and that you didn't lose too much in the eradication process. That blue gorgonian you have is amazing, I haven't seen one like it before. I also especially like your gobstopper paly colony, it is beautiful. You have an awesome tank.

It is great! :D I was almost to the point of breaking this tank down, selling it all and starting over. There would be no other way to keep from introducing my existing corals without the risk of adding these blue polyps. There was also a kenya tree sprig that I've been pulling out for years that seems to be gone since the fluke tab treatment.

My water appears more clear also AND the near death orange monti cap has VERY noticeable growth and color just since I killed the cloves. I'm wondering if the polyps were releasing a chemical which was slightly clouding the water and stressing my montiporas. I can never keep montis alive in this tank for long.

On a side note; I treated the frag tank last night. I'm doing an experiment with this tank and not turning the skimmer off and only treating for 24 hours. The frag tank has a huge sinularia, BTA, xenia, GSP.

I have to say I really didn't realize how bad the blue cloves were stressing my tank until this weekend.

My sps has noticeable growth again, my blenny and mandarin are fatter from having more rock surface area to feed, my lps are puffy and full again, the zoanthids are starting to color up and look normal again, my water appear more clear which means these thing must have been releasing chemicals I wasn't aware of.

If you look at the previous pics I have a colony of orange monti cap that looked dead. Since the blue polyps are gone the monti is already showing new color and growth.

WOW! That is a striking difference! Way to go on the eradication, definitely more room for corals now.

I have montipora sprouting up I had considered dead and gone. It's crazy.

The orange cap is growing fast and it's shaded by a big acro.

Superman montipora danae that died long ago is showing up again.

Just some pics to track growth and some new pieces I recently added. The blue leds wreak havoc on the iphone pics so I had to take pics under whites only. They all look much nicer with the blue leds on.

Paly grandis. Got 3 new polyps already, got this from a friend as 1 polyp.

Pink millepora with metallic green polyps.

Tinkerbell Acro. Crazy bright blue tips on this piece. Grows in long thin branches.

Purple efflo slowly growing but has sprouted up new tips since the blue cloves are gone.

Baby blue chalice with pink eyes.

My mandarin. I call him Fatso. I've had him over 2 years now.

War coral. Really nice color with the blues on. Fairly fast grower as far as Favias go.

ATL Meteor shower Cyphastrea. Becoming one of my favorite pieces already.

Tyree Bubblegum Monster

Hulk Millepora. Got this as a 1 inch frag from Copps about a year ago. It's my second fastest grower.

Tubs Pink Jade. Broke it's stem while moving the tank but it's growing fast and the broken part is starting to branch out.

ORA Blue Millepora. Still my fastest grower.

The derasa is closed up a lot. Sometimes it opens but doesn't extend the mantle fully. The other Maximas look fine.
